Talia Iaconis

My goal is to create work that is both personal and accessible paintings that offer an emotional entry point for others, regardless of whether they have been to the same locations. I want my work to encourage reflection on how we carry places with us, how our experiences shape our understanding of the world, and how art can translate the internal journey.

My practice reflects a quiet dialogue between material and landscape. I am drawn to transparency, ambiguity, and stillness; soft layers of colour that invite reflection. These are often anchored by a decisive line or solid form, creating balance, tension, and depth.

Nature is central to my practice. I am inspired by the way weather shapes and transforms the land over time, and by trees in particular outlining their resilience, strength, and enduring presence reflected in the surfaces I work with, whether canvas or timber.
